Praise & Prayer - 22Nov2009

"When the music fades...I'm coming back to the heart of worship...It's all about you Jesus...Every single breath." (Matt Redman)

Thanksgiving Items

  • Praise God for the trip to Northern Kenya where the MTA Coordinator joined the team of mission pastors from CITAM (Christ is the Answer Ministries) to witness firsthand the amazing mission work CITAM is doing in the region, spend time with the mission pastors in their retreat reviewing their strategies and encouraging local Christian and missionaries in the region..

  • We thank God for the grace he has given the iServe Africa office to visit, appraise, encourage and manage all the logistics for all our 19 iServe Africa apprentices who continue to settle down well in their various placements.

  • Praise God for significant progress the MTA Coordinator has made in conducting and overseeing transcription of several interviews for the Mission Mobilization Task Force (MMTF) research on issues affecting mission mobilization in Kenya.

  • We also thank God for several meetings that we have had as MTA staff to facilitate mission sessions and nurture more partnerships with various churches, mission organizations and individuals.

Prayer Items

  • Please pray for the ongoing recruitment for a new MAG Coordinator following the transition of the former MAG Coordinator (Gerald Mwangi) who moved on from MTA after serving with us since February 2007.

  • Also pray for the plans for the second Nairobi Ministry Training Course (NMTC) scheduled for 6th - 11th December 2009 for current second team of 19 iServe Africa apprentices.

  • Kindly pray for the consultant who has come on board to help us set up better financial management systems for MTA. Especially pray that the setting up a new accounting software will go well.

  • Please pray for the MTA staff who are generally feeling exhausted after an extremely busy period in the recent past and are looking forward to some rest over Christmas.

  • And finally, kindly continue to pray that more people, churches and organizations to give more towards MTA daily needs and to respond positively to the MTA Special Fund Appeal which we launched over Easter to help us offset the current deficit of approx. KES 250,000 (USD 3,400). Kindly consider responding. Thank you.
